报告题目: Will Human Attempt to Deceive AI? An Examination of Impression Management Strategies in AI Interviews

【报告摘要】

The advent of artificial intelligence (AI) interviews is revolutionizing recruitment by automating the evaluation of candidates through digital interviewers. AI interviews assess personality traits and competencies, potentially enhancing efficiency and objectivity in recruitment processes. However, the impact of AI interviews on job candidates' impression management (IM) strategies, particularly deceptive IM, remains unclear. This study addresses this gap by investigating how AI interviews influence candidates' IM tactics and why these changes occur. Results from three scenario-based experiments reveal that candidates demonstrate higher deceptive IM in AI interviews compared to in-person interviews. And incorporating the self-view setting or a standard presence in AI interviews system can mitigate their deceptive behaviors by fostering a more objective self-evaluation among candidates. By shedding light on the nuanced effects of AI interviews on candidate behavior, our study contributes to the literature on IM strategies and human-AI interactions, and offers practical guidance for organizations implementing AI interview in their hiring processes.

【报告人简介】

卢向华,复旦大学管理学院教授/博导,国家自然科学基金杰出青年基金获得者,2020年邬家培奖获得者。她的研究方向为数字经济下的用户行为分析及运营机制设计。她长期从事互联网与新技术创新创业的研究与教育,在国内外高水平期刊上发表学术论文40余篇,如Management Science,MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Journal of Marketing,  Marketing Science等,算法专利多项。目前已经作为负责人主持了6项国家自然基金项目,并独立了完成了多项省部级科研项目以及政府与企业横向咨询课题,研究成果多次被主流媒体报导并为企业所采纳实践。
